How should I travel to and from my accomodation? We recommend flying in and out of Edinburgh airport for ease of transport and frequency of flights. Below we outline several methods for travelling to and from Edinburgh city center, or Edinburgh airport to Cambo Estate and surrounding villages. On the evening of Saturday, October 18th (wedding day) we have arranged for a minibus to run transfers from Cambo Estate to Kingsbarns, Crail, and St Andrews every hour on the hour from 23:00pm to 05:00am, free of charge to guests. Cambo Estate If you're staying with us at Cambo, we highly recommend arranging a taxi transfer from either Edinburgh airport or city center, as the venue is quite remote and a bit of walking would be required from the nearest bus / train station. The directions linked below outline local taxi companies available for use throughout the weekend. Local Taxis Kingsbarns Although Kingsbarns is the closest village to Cambo, it is also the most rural. While it's possible to arrive using public transport we recommend taking a taxi for ease and comfort. During the weekend, the distance to and from Cambo estate is quite easily walkable (<25min). The directions linked below outline both taxi hire and public transport options for arrival. Directions from the airport Directions from Edinburgh city center Crail Much like Kingsbarns, Crail is most easily reached via taxi from Edinburgh airport or city center. During the weekend, travelling by taxi to and from Cambo Estate takes < 10min. It's also possible to take a bus from Crail to Cambo Estate, it leaves once an hour. The directions linked below outline taxi hire and public transport options for arrival, also available for use throughout the weekend. What should I wear?We have selected a wedding palette, focused particularly on jewel tones, that is reflected in our stationery and other details. You are welcome to pack a wardrobe with these colors in mind. However, we encourage you to wear whatever you're comfortable in, and are not requiring anything specific for the rehearsal dinner or farewell brunch. For our wedding day, we ask that you dress semi-formally. We would also like to remind our guests of the unpredictability of Scottish weather. In October it will likely be overcast, with the potential for rain. The average temperature is about 12°C to 14°C (54°F to 57°F).
